JDF gets more vehicles

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) has added six more armored vehicles to its fleet.

During a ceremony at the JDF’s headquarters on Monday, Prime Minister Andrew Holness commissioned the Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicles into service.

The Bushmaster, also known as an infantry mobility vehicle, is an 11-ton four-wheel-drive vehicle designed to protect up to ten people in harsh and hostile conditions.

The enhanced fleet of Protected Mobility Vehicles, according to Chief of Defence Staff Rear Admiral Antonette Wemyss-Gorman, would boost the flexibility of the troops on the ground as they execute operational actions across the island.
