On Wednesday morning, a member of the Jamaica Defence Force perished in a car accident on the Old Harbour Road, St Catherine.
His identity is still a secret.
Around 6:30, the collision took place close to the Willowdene Housing Scheme.
According to reports, the soldier hit a Toyota Probox taxi while operating a Toyota Corolla.
Five passengers and the cab driver were brought to the Spanish Town Hospital along with the soldier.
During treatment, the soldier passed away.
